The school is involved with the Eco School project.
More information is to be found on the Fife Eco Schools website
All classes have been involved in the Eco School Project and everyone is delighted to have achieved our Third Green Flag.
We continue, as required to work on litter. Each time we complete a school litter pick we notice that there is less and less litter. Most of it is environmental litter not caused by the children. We continue to work hard to keep the cloakrooms tidy as well with children earning a House Point each week. We are also recycling more and have had one of the land fill containers removed from the school.
The current topic we are working on is Water. Over the year the children will be considering how we use water, how we benefit from instant access to water, how life has changed over the century in terms of hygiene. We will hold a non uniform day with proceeds being donated to Wateraid. The children will work together to complete a water related challenge set to each class by the headteacher. These challenges involve considering the importance of different aspects of water, deciding how best to present the information and then sharing the work of each class in the afternoon.
