Learner's Experiences



P6 had Pauline Smeaton, Children's Librarian in to explain the Big Book Brains Quiz. They will now read all of the books for this year.

P1-7 had an assembly about Giving where they heard about the Foodbank, MacMillan and VisionRomania. These are 3 charities which are supported this term.


Clubs - Cross- country for P5-7, Netball P6&7, Boxsoccer P1-7 and Senior Code Club have all started.

SSPCA - All classes had input from the organisation. 

P5 had a visit to the Foodbank and will organise the collection for our Harvest Church Service.

Representatives from P5-7 worked with Ged Young giving input for the the new interactive exhibition planned for Dundee Science Centre.

P2 had a visit from Emma, who is veterinary nurse, as part of their topic on Pets.


Junior Code Club has started again for P3&4.

P4 had a visit from Dr. Tasker as part of their topic on the body. 

As part of Maths Week Scotland Lorna Tasker worked with P3, P4 and P.7.

P3 planted purple crocuses provided by the Rotary and heard about their Purple Pinkie initiative to help erradicate polio.

P5 are once again taking part in the University of Wales bulb planting. This involves them in entering data about temperature, rainfall and growth online.


Code club had a Robotics workshop that was run by Zoe Garvie.

Representatives from the school took part in the Dairsie Dash organised by Active Schools.

P1-3 shared read, write and count activites with parents and were presented with their Read, Write, Count bags.

P4-7 organised and ran a very successful Christmas Fair.


P1-3 put on the Christmas Show, Gabriel's Big Break.

P4-7 led the Christmas Church Service.

The whole school enjoyed a visit to the Byre Theatre to see Mother Goose.

All classes had a great time at their Christmas Party.


P2-4 Dance Club has started again on a Thursday after school. 

Health and Wellbeing Workshops are ongoing over 5 weeks looking at the 5 ways to good health. This explores the 5 ways to improve and maintaing emotional health and wellbeing. Be Active, Give, Take Notice, Connect and Learn.

P5-7 are learning the songs for their upcoming Scottish Opera workshop.

P4-7 had Rugby tasters.
