Well done to pupils and parents who are working hard to continue with your learning at home, I am so proud of you!

While school is shut it is important that you check your Glow emails every day.

I also love to hear your stories about what you have been doing with your families and some of the different independent learning activities that you have been enjoying, please keep sharing this news with me on Glow :)

Welcome to P3/4/5 class page. Our teacher is Miss Galbraith!

Please see Glow emails and Teams pages for daily updates and tasks set for learning at home.

Numeracy and Literacy

In P3/4/5 we will be learning more about the four operations for our numeracy. We will be learning lots of different strategies through this topic which will help us to complete tricky sums! This will also help us in using some of our mental maths skills on a daily basis. We will also be covering percentages, fractions and decimals as well as recapping some of our previous learning as it is linked to our topic, such as data handling.

For our literacy we will be working on creative writing. We will be creating lots of different stories as we work with Miss Galbraith and Miss Porterfield. Some of our stories will even be about space and aliens as we make links to our upcoming topic. We have plenty of learning to keep us busy!

We will also be working hard on our reading. We will have different opportunites to read aloud, to read independently or even to be read to in class daily. We will also be using book detectives to help us extend our learning of reading. You will find the book detective cards below. These will be useful for future homework tasks. Spellings will also be completed in class daily.

 Topic

Our topic this term is 'Space' which is linked to our focus on STEM. The children have been asking to learn about space for quite a while, so taking their choices into consideration,we have co-planned our topic. It will help us learn about new and interesting facts, some things we might never even have heard of before so it will hopefully be a very engaging and interesting topic! Stay tuned for more!

Expressive Arts

The children are very excited to learn about the moon walk, so using this as inspiration we will re-create our own moon landing as part of our drama lessons.

We also hope to create models of spaceships, which we will be designing ourselves. We will use our problem solving skills to create the best possible design that could maybe one day be built to fly in space!
