This year we have some new changes to our staff team, we'd like to welcome in Miss Brown into the Early Entrants. Miss Price, Miss Duffy into the 3-5 Nursery and Miss McKay who is our Early Years Lead Officer and will be floating between Early Entrants and 3-5 Nursery. Ms Swales has also joined our nursery  team, she will be our Nursery Teacher. Miss Wyse also got married in the summer time and will now be known as Mrs Rodgers - Congratulations Mrs Rodgers!

Big welcome to our new starts and their families! Our new children are settling in well and making new friends already.

This term we will be continuing to focus on developing our outdoor area. We have added in more natural resources to try and encourage in some beasties and bugs! We'd like to invite parents in to get involved in this, share opinions and ideas and also to come and help whenever you can!

For children moving on the the 3-5 nursery in January  there will be more information on transition visits after the October holidays, please speak to a member of staff if you have any questions.

The children have been really enjoying our loose parts and making use of them very creatively! We would gladly welcome more resources for this such as-

  • Acorns
  • Shells & Leaves
  • Wool & String
  • Milk crates & Basins
  • Pots & Pans
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Twigs & Stones
  • Plant pots, Guttering & Tyres
  • Rollers, Sponges & Paint brushes

We have been doing more planting in our garden to keep our garden looking pretty,

Just a reminder about our lending library. Children will be issued a book on a friday and if they can return it the following friday  we will exchange it for another book of your child's choice. If any parents would like to volunteer to help run this please let staff know.

As well as the childrens library we had a grown up library  where our adults can choose books for themselves, feel free to have a look or bring in some books to share with others!

Another reminder that we also run a breakfast club and a lunch club on fridays where you and your child can have a bite to eat and a play in the room. Breakfast club starts at 8:30 followed by a play and then a coffee morning hosted by Mrs Laird, please come along and join us (afternoon parents welcome too). Lunch club starts at 12:40 followed by a play in the room. We hope to see you there!

Mrs Simpson recently  attended an ACE resilience viewing seminar and now has more of an insight into the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences so please remember we are always available to chat!

We do enjoy our outdoor play  in all weathers so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather especially with the colder weather coming in. We do also ask that all clothing is clearly  labelled with your child's name as to avoid any confusion.

Before the summer holidays Mrs Simpson and Miss Lindsay hosted a small fundraising event to gather funds for new resources. With the money we raised we were able to buy lots of lovely toys (too many to list!) from puzzles to a wheelbarrow for the garden! Thank you to all that helped make this possible and to the local businesses that generously donated vouchers to us!

Dates for your diary - Nursery  closes on Friday 6th October and returns on Monday 22nd October.

Heres to a fun term!
