Bellyeoman Primary & Nursery schoolBellyeoman Primary School was built in 1997. It is a single stream, co-educational, non-denominational school, situated on an elevated site in East Dunfermline.

The primary teaching bases are located in the east and west wings of the ground floor and are open plan in design. The nursery too is based on the ground floor. The school building also houses a games hall / dining room, a music room, a library and office accommodation. Our building is bright and spacious. Wood, glass and bold primary colours have been used to good effect, creating a welcoming and warm, but stimulating, modern environment. A controlled entry system has external CCTV cameras which provide a high level of security.

Our aim is to create an ethos within the school environment where pupils, parents and staff work together in partnership to provide the highest possible standard of education for all pupils. We also aim to promote strong links with our local community.

The Expressive Arts curriculum is enhanced by regular visits from our PE specialist. A small number of pupils are learning to play brass instruments. We believe that personal and social development is a fundamental aspect of childrens' education and through our school programme pupils are encouraged to have a positive view of themselves, empathise with others and take responsibility for their own behaviour and learning. We have Learning Support Teachers in school for 3 days.

The school operates a programme of Positive Behaviour. Good behaviour is recognised and rewarded. We aim to be a health promoting school, with a healthy tuck shop at breaktime. Our Pupil Council, House Captains and Prefects meet regularly to represent pupils views. Play equipment is provided during lunch breaks to promote social relationships. A residential programme at Ardroy Outdoor Centre is offered to P6 pupils and P7 pupils are offered a residential experience at Lockerbie Manor.

Our Parent School Association is very active and organises many successful social and fund-raising events.

We are very pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspects of our school.
