Learning Resource Centre

'A wide range of reading materials, learning resources and information helps to support the development of successful learners and confident individuals. Promoting independent learning skills supports lifelong learning and encourages children and young people to grow as responsible citizens and make an effective contribution to society. In the school library resource centre, children and young people have the opportunity to exercise their entitlement to access information and to develop literacies in a supportive  environment … Effective libraries and learning resource centres are central to the learning and teaching taking place in the school.’

(Improving Libraries for Learners, SLIC, 2009)

Opening Hours Monday – Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

The Library is staffed by a Part Time Qualified Librarian and Part Time Library Assistant.

We are available for classwork, reading, research, homework, revision, private study, groupwork and internet access.

The Library boasts a great collection of current resources, both relevant to the curriculum and offering pupils the opportunity to read for pleasure.  We have a very welcoming environment allowing pupils to work independently, hone skills and become lifelong learners.

Outside of class time we allow pupils full access to all our resources, pupils find this a great chance to sit and read or catch up on homework or revision.

Our ICT comprises 10 desktop computers and 24 netbooks with wifi access to the school network.
