The school retained the North East Fife Cricket Tournament for the third year in a row at Station Park St Andrews.

Jack Nicklaus Golf Coaching May 2010

Jack Nicklaus coached 6 pupils in golf at the Old Course St Andrews.

 

 Fife Constabulary PosterCampaign 

 

Ellen Caton was chosen to front Fife Constabulary poster campaign.  Ellens picture along with three other photos has been chosen to be displayed in all Fife council buildings advertising the importance of the Police within the community.

TAG 20's Plenty Competition

In May 2010 the TAG ran a 20's plenty competition with PC Martin (Fife Constabulary).  Each class had a prize winner with the best poster judged to be Kate Ballantyne.  This poster will be used to help remind drivers of keeping to the speed limit.

Alastair Jones won the top Gold Award in the Scottish Mathematical Challenge.

Willow Weaving March 2010

The Eco Committee invited Ronnie MacKie from Craigencault farm to weave willow sculptures with all the classes.  The pupils made a wigwam for sweetpeas to grow up and a willow archway to walk through.

St Andrews Rotary Quiz March 2010

Joshua Cumming, Sarah MacKay, Charlie Irons & Hamish Ballantyne represented the school at the Rotary Club inter school quiz.  The four representatives came second.  Well done to all the pupils for their hard work.

Sir Menzies Campbell Visit - 12th March 2010

The pupils invited Sir Menzies Campbell to speak to them about Citizenship.

Traverse Wall Opening Ceremony - 17th February 2010

The Pupil Council invited Kate Hughes to officially open the Traverse Wall.

Starbucks award the school books – February 2010

Pupils from the school were awarded books by the Manageress of Starbucks St Andrews - Lisa Ross.

Fife Music Festival - 28th January 2010

Primary 4 - 7 represented the school at the Fife Music Festival Kirkcaldy

Traverse Wall installation - 28th January 2010

The Pupil Council's efforts to secure planning and funding for a traverse wall culminated in its installation in the school playground. 

Dundee University Visit - 25th January 2010

Joshua Cumming, Sarah MacKay & Adam Fell presented to BEd 2 students how to organise an Enterprise Week.  The pupils then demonstrated how to use Crazy talk, the digital blue camera & Comic Life.

Scottish Literature Week - 25th to 29th January 2010 - Enterprise Group

The Enterprise Group organised a Scottish Literature Week looking at all aspects of literature.  This included stories, poems and songs.  The parents joined in the fun at the end of the week by sharing their love of Scottish literature.

Christmas Service 2009 - Enterprise group

The Enterprise group wrote, managed and included the whole school in their Christmas Service - "Credit Crunch Christmas".  This humorous musical looked at a modern day Scrooge and the effect this festive time of year has on his family.

Starbucks award the school books - December 2009

Pupils from the school sang Christmas Carols at Starbucks in St Andrews and were awarded books by the Manageress Lisa Ross.

Radiowave Presentation - November 2009

Strathkinness was one of two Primary Schools chosen to represent Scotland at a Radiowave presentation at ASDARC.

Radiowaves Champion Station - November 2009

Strathkinness was one of the first Radiowaves stations for Britain to be awarded Champion school status.

Enterprise - November 2009

The school won an entrepreneur award for "Best Quality" product at the Business is the Gateway Enterprise event at Anstruther Primary School.

Radiowaves Station of the Month - September 2009

Strathkinness was made the Radiowaves station of the month for September for Britain

Sport Cricket Success - September 2009

The school represented Fife Schools at Scottish National Cricket Championship.  The school came 9th out of 250 schools in Scotland.

Sport Cricket Success - April 2009

The school won through the Fife Schools Cricket Tournament to represent the school at the Scottish National Cricket Championship. 

Animation Award - May 2009

The school was awarded a Nintendo DS for its quality work in animation.

Primary Maths Challenge - April 2009

William Naismith was awarded a Gold Award for the Scottish Mathematical Challenge 2008-2009. 

Third Eco Flag - April 2009

On Friday 24th April Strathkinness Primary School was awarded its Third Eco Flag. 

Rotary Club Eco Competition - 2009

Four Strathkinness Senior Class pupils came second in the Rotary Club Eco Presentation.  The pupils created a PowerPoint presentation and Podcast download which they performed to judges.  The school won a cheque for £100.

St Anza Poetry Competition - 2009

 Four Strathkinness Senior Class pupils were short listed for the St Anza poetry competition this year.  The pupils were:

Georgie Wedderburn, Angus Paton, Ross Gammie & Jake Walker

Turn on the Tap  Samaritans Purse December - 2008

The school successfully raised over £500 for the Samaritans Purse.  The monies raised will be used to help Third World countries buy clean water.

Enterprise - November 2008

Strathkinness Primary 7 pupils qualified from the North East heats to enter Fife Enterprise is the Business final.  The pupils came a superb 5th overall competing against schools from all over Fife.

Sport Cricket Success - 2008

The school won the North East Fife Cricket Tournament. They also qualified for the Scottish National Cricket Tournament in Arbroath.  We were then invited to the National Finals in Arbroath.

Sport Badminton Success - 2008

A mixed Primary 4 & 5 group of pupils from the school won the North East Fife Badminton sports Challenge competition.

 Poetry Success - 2008

Two pupils were short listed for the prestigious St Anza poetry competition. Ben Levy won this competition with a moving World War II poem.

Techno Challenge Quiz - 2007 Winners

The school won the trophy for a third time.

“Hooch Aye” Scots Afternoon - 2007

 This Enterprise Activity involved pupils, parents, staff and members of the community.  The culmination of this event took place in the Village hall with a celebration of Scottish Culture.

Health Promotion - 2007

School achieved its Health Promotion status on successful completion of its first 6 cards.

ICT Radiowaves - 2007

The school submitted an excellent digital animation (see our Radiowave page) for the inaugural Radiowaves award ceremony.

Parent Council Set up - 2007

The new Parent council was set up with all parents being members of the forum.

Enterprise is the Gateway - 2006

Primary 7 Pupils won the Quality Assurance Section.
Second Eco Flag - 2006

The school was presented with its second Eco Flag.

Travel Action Group Awarded Charter- 2006

The School was awarded with its Travel Plan Charter.  Parents were invited to the ceremony which was recorded on Radiowaves.

Techno Challenge Quiz - 2005 Winners

The school successfully won this competition for a second time.

Sport Football Success - 2005 

Primary 6 & 7 boys won the University winter 5 -a -side trophy.

Presentation of TV for collecting Healthy Hearts - 2005

 Presented for eating healthy school meals.

 Red Nose Day - 2005

 Raised £1000 pounds through a variety of activities.

 First Eco Flag - 2004

The school had a wonderful celebration in the village hall.  Every body was invited.

Fife Schools Poster Competition Winners- June 2003
