Primary 1/2/3 Mrs Bell

While school is shut...

Well done to pupils and parents who are working hard to continue with your learning at home, I am so proud of you!

While school is shut it is important that you check your Glow emails every day.

I also love to hear your stories about what you have been doing with your families and some of the different independent learning activities that you have been enjoying, please keep sharing this news with me on Glow :)

Resources for home learning

You can find our Blairhall Home Learning Booklet on the Learning at home page which has lots of ideas for learning activities to keep you busy.

I will post more ideas and resources for you in the coming days.

Stay safe everyone,

Mrs Bell

Term 3 Newsletter

This term we are going to be learning about Light and Dark. We have already started researching nocturnal animals and we have found this really interesting. Later in the term we will be learning about bridges and water. P2/3 from Tulliallan are doing the same topics so it is a great opportunity to work collaboratively.

We will be sharing our learning through a class assembly on the 11th March. We look forward to seeing you then!

Expressive Arts

We have started the book “The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark” and plan to get creative through activities linked to the story.

We will be getting be working towards designing and building our own bridges later in the term.

Other News

Our gym day is Tuesday. Please leave gym kits hanging on pegs in school so that the children’s gym kit is always available. Names should be on all items of clothing as it makes it easier to reunite items with their owner if things become misplaced or lost.

Outdoor learning is on Wednesday afternoon. Pupils can come to school in their outdoor clothing. Please provide your child with a waterproof coat and a pair of sturdy boots.  As always, parent helpers are welcome.

Reading books and word walls have been sent home. Please sign reading records to indicate that reading has been completed at home. It is best if the children keep their reading folders in their bags to ensure that they are equipped for reading groups in class.

Please follow us on Twitter @BlairhallPS to find out what we are learning!
