Wormit Primary School moved to its present site overlooking the Firth of Tay in 1978. The administration area is on the ground floor, with a multi-purpose gym / dining room on the lower level. Upstairs are two open plan teaching wings housing P1 – 3 and P4 – 7 respectively together with accommodation for the Nursery class. The surrounding grounds are used for various curricular activities.

The school aims emphasise the creation and maintenance of a positive, caring environment which allows staff and pupils to develop a clear sense of identity and pride in the school and its place in the community.

The school follows National and council guidance when considering reviews and implementation of curricular policies. We benefit from the expertise of our learning support teacher 2 and a half days per week We no longer have specialist teachers of Expressive Arts coming into school but teachers do ensure that Drama, Dance, Art and Music are covered within the week. We are particularly proud of our achievements in music, which include annual participation in the Fife Festival of Music and Leng Medal singing competition as well as concerts for parents and friends. There is both a junior and senior school choir and we offer individual tuition in  piano and woodwind.

We also offer a variety of after-school clubs – Code Club, Cross Country Running, Boxsoccer,,Netball, Tennis (through local tennis club), as well as a successful football programme on Saturday mornings. P7 pupils have a residential outdoor experience at Ardroy.  Both the PTA, which is our main fund-raising vehicle, and Parent Council are highly supportive of the work of the school and actively encourage partnership with parents. The Pupil Council meets regularly with the Headteacher to discuss staff and pupil concerns. Upper school pupils ‘buddy’ P1 and P2 children at break times and sometimes for activities in school.

We are always happy to meet with parents to talk through concerns or queries about the school.
