A lot of work has been carried out in our school grounds over the past few years in collaboration with the grounds for learning team and through the Polli-nation project.
Our pupils have been actively involved in sharing ideas, undertaking the work and maintaining the areas. Some examples of our improvements have included creating a willow arch, planting apple trees, creating tyre planters, building a bug hotel and planting pots around the school environment. The children love to play around the willow arch and have created games using it.
We hope to build upon our growing by using the food harvested in our recipes for Blairhall Bakes. Creating a sustainable food source would be great for the food preparation and cooking skills that all our pupils develop here.
