Learning at Home

Every Fife Council employee is playing their part in the fight against coronavirus, whether this is by working on the frontline, undertaking different duties or by staying at home.  For some, this is an ideal opportunity to undertake some personal and professional development.  This guide provides some tips around e-learning and other forms of remote learning.

The ways in which we learn have changed significantly in recent years.  Many learning providers, including colleges, universities and public sector organisations including Fife Council have moved some traditional face to face learning to online platforms.

The current situation has highlighted how much business we can actually do remotely, and learning is no different.  As well as e-learning platforms available to us, there are links to resources provided by, and for the Council through MyToolkit.  In addition, there is an almost unlimited bank of information on the internet on any given subject.  These are all learning resources which can be accessed during lockdown.

In this short guide, we will try and provide some tips for successful learning.  This will evolve and develop over the weeks ahead so keep checking back here.  New links to resources will be added regularly.

So Where Do I Access These Opportunities?

Each week, we will provide links to relevant E-Learning courses, resources in MyToolkit and on the web here.  We will provide some further reading for those who want to take this further.

How Do I Access E-Learning

You can access e-learning here!

You can also access the site from the front page of FISH, under the employee section:

If you need further information on access to e-learning from your own device or access to e-learning for the first time, please see the guide at the bottom of this page.

What else will I be able to access and how?

We will identify suitable resources from MyToolkit each week and provide links here!

The team are currently working on this and the first set of resources should be available next week.

The team will also put up links to external resources which can aid personal and professional development at home.  Again, keep checking back here to see what's new!

This week we have added tips on how you can maximise your learning at home.
