Time off for Jury Service

All employees are granted time off to attend Jury Duty.  Employees should inform their line manager that they have been called for jury service as soon as possible and keep them up to date.

You will receive a letter from the court advising you to download a claim form, this should be done as soon as possible.  The citation and downloaded form should be sent to the Payroll team who will complete all necessary information and provide a letter and a loss of earning claim form which you should hand to the court on the first day of attendance, to claim for loss of earnings. Payroll complete the form with the necessary information prior to going to jury service as this includes information regarding your rate of pay etc.

Once you have attended court, you will be issued with the completed loss of earnings form from the court, and this should be handed to Payroll to offset against the earnings received for the day(s) at court.

You will also need to claim any other expenses (i.e. travelling costs) through the court which will also be paid directly to you.

As with all other absences, you must record your time at Jury Duty in AboutMe or if you do not have access, then your manager must record it in AboutMyTeam on your behalf. Jury Duty is found under ‘Other Absence’, Paid – Special Leave. Jury Duty.

Clockwise Users will have their time updated within a couple of days of the end date of the leave, there will be no need for any adjustments.
