First Aid at Work
The Guidance publications below issued by the Corporate Health and Safety Team describe the necessary levels of First Aid provision for employees and others throughout the Council. They will assist Council Services in meeting the requirements of current legislation and act as a source of guidance for First aid provision and arrangements.
It should be noted that this guidance document does not cover ‘Administration of Medicine’. Where this is necessary, additional Service arrangements must be made.
Services must consider and determine the required levels of First Aid provision as part of their Risk Assessment processes.
The Council recognises a duty of care towards other persons whilst they are on Council property or being provided with a Council Service. First Aid provision should be to the same standard as that provided for employees.
