Traffic Management

Our traffic management standards and requirements are relevant to a greater or lesser extent at most Fife Council workplaces, including Depots, Schools, Community resource properties, municipal buildings, etc.

Implementation of the proportionate approach described in the guide below will ensure we adopt and maintain sensible and safe traffic management measures which protect all users of our vehicle, cycling and pedestrian traffic routes at our workplaces.

Our guide consolidates good practice guidelines from broader sources, expressing industry norms and expectations in a Council context. Following this document will enable compliance with legal requirements.

The document itself provides a process to determine initial impact on individual properties and anevaluation and assessment of risk.

Those in charge of more complex properties will need to make and maintain a separate assessment of compliance with the standards described, which may involve implementation of additional or improved control measures. For our most complex (in a traffic management context) properties a Traffic Management Plan may be required.
