Sickness Absence Recording
If you become ill you no longer need to phone the Council's sickline. To make it easier, all sickness recording can now be done by managers and employees within Oracle Cloud – and this should be accessed through Office 365 rather than the remote desktop (view the how-to guide here). It’s similar to booking leave but you must call your manager first to make sure they know why you are off work or unavailable and for how long.
If you are self-isolating at home because you or a household member has symptoms this continues to be recorded as ‘Special Leave - Public Health Absence’.
Either you or your manager can add or modify your sickness absence. When you add the absence, you must enter an end date. Enter the date you expect the absence to end. If the end date changes or extends you can change this, but only up until the original end date that has been entered. If you need to change it after this time, your manager can do it for you. See the employee guide at the end of the page.
You can now add and modify sickness absences - both those that are current and those that have ended in the system. You can also leave the absence date blank if you don't know when the employee will return. If you think the whole absence has been recorded wrongly please log a call on First Contact so action can be agreed.
